I live in Chocolate City, Work for NPR, am currently working on an MA in Interior Design, Love my roommate, friends and Kitteh, "Bits." Day to day I find more and more beauty lurking in the oddest spots. Rouge My Knees is an accumulation of notes on what I find whets my curiosity for all things toxic and pretty.
I love sharing my view of the world through the photos and links posted here.
Wedding photos of Elvis and Priscilla seem like they belong in my family photo albums…that’s how engrained these photos are in my childhood memories. My dad loved Elvis and my aunt boasted one of the largest memorabilia collections, so there was no shortage of the King around.
I think Priscilla may have led me down the path of long dark hair and liquid eyes.
I also cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen the made for TV Elvis and Me.
Honey was 14 when she met Elvis. Can you imagine?
all that dark hair against all that white kills me.
If you haven’t had a chance to see Midnight In Paris, you must. If you, like myself, love to think of the past and a life that you could’ve, should’ve had, in say Prohibition Era Chicago or ’60s Swinging London, then you will love Woody Allen’s new wander-lustful tale.
One of, well, two of my FAVE things about the flick, 1 – the wedding scene in a ’20s Era Deyrolle (talk about a dream venue) and 2 – the hysterical portrayal of Salvidor Dali (played by the ever so handsome Adrien Brody). The scene is delightful as Man Ray andLuis Buñuel meet up with their chum in a Paris Cafe.
The best love songs are the ones thought up by seemingly troubled alternative bands. Must have something to do with the anguished lead singer and the melancholic vibe of the jam. Does it for me every time.
This spread in Elle Mexico is not alleviating my pains to have rose pink or lavender hair. Nope, not at all. It would be one thing if I was starting out at blonde…however my dark locks are far from moving easily into the pastel spectrum of things.
Maybe I should just throw on a wig and call it a day.
It all started with some Will Cotton paintings, My Little Pony and Mother Monster of course…
GAGA and Natali. I have a feeling we will see more of sister GAGA as she seems to be designing more and more of GAGA’s stage sets. Exactly what the world needs more of. MORE GERMANOTTA INSPIRED ART!
Hear Nick Knight wax poetic on minerals, flora and sculpture. The historical and scientific influence on Knight and Alexander McQueen is so refreshing.
