Some things just fit so well, like lock and key, like Laura and Kate Mulleavy. I have dreams of Tim Burton one day filming a biopic on Edward Gorey. Those two seem to have been created from the same fabric. To expand on this dream, the lovely ladies of Rodarte would do the costumes. The Mulleavy gals have perfected goth couture with their delicate use of fabric and the strategically shredded and ripped detail that is their trademark.
The Rodarte designers do have taste for film. They can discuss their top ten Criterion faves with Burton and come up with some dreamy new costumes. I imagine they would all share the love for Jean Cocteau’s Beauty and the Beast.
